Rebel Wilson: She’s Never Uncomfortable

When watching Rebel Wilson on television, in film, or doing late night appearances, it is easy to tell that she is never uncomfortable or out of her element. She just blends into the environment and makes it her own. It is a skill that not many people have mastered, but Rebel Wilson has done it.

She has made a career out of it. She also knows how to make a scene or big moment last as long as possible to get the most laughter out of it. She knows the comedy is going to come from the fact she won’t break character and she is going to commit to it.

One thing that has played a big role in that is the fact she went to an all-girls Christian high school. They were big on individuality and allowing the girls to be themselves and pursue their dreams. She has pursued her dreams and she has not regretted it for one second.

She is happy she made the move from Australia to the United States. Of course, Australia is always home to her, but she knew her calling as an actress was in the United States. She bet on herself, and it was a bet that paid off.

She has been in films such as Bridesmaids, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Pitch Perfect, Pain & Gain, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, How to Be Single, Grimsby, and her recent hit, Isn’t It Romantic, where she was the lead actress and also a producer. The fact she is into producing now, it shows she is trying out a little bit of everything these days in Hollywood. When you also look at the films that were listed, she has been part of some big movies. Keep in mind, she only moved to the states in 2010. In two days, she found an agent, and before long, she was in Bridesmaids.

It might seem like it all happened so fast for her, but for Rebel Wilson, she remembers the shy young girl that was so scared of acting her mom had to drop her off at a community acting class for her own good. She also remembers being socially awkward.

Wilson remembers it all and she uses that in her comedy. She will pull from anything in her life to produce comedy. She is not afraid to do that. She’s not afraid to do anything quite frankly, which is something a lot of people respect and love about her as a person and as an actress.

With Rebel Wilson, she has taken the approach of, “This is me. Love it or leave it.” People are truly enjoying the work of Rebel Wilson and for good reason. She’s authentic and hilarious.
